Outreach
The obligation of world missions is found in Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:44-48, John 20:21, and Acts 1:8.
World missions is the effort to disciple people, and plant indigenous churches among all the nations of the world so that God might be glorified.
In general, GBC adheres to a policy of giving greater resources to individual Missionaries vs. supporting greater numbers of mission projects. Our experience with some families spending years on deputation (i.e. raising funds to deploy to their chosen field), has shown us the reality of family burnout and ministry discouragement. We believe the current process of missionary deputation is many times counter-productive to the mission/ministry of God's church.
One of the many encouragements of our outreach has been the short-term mission projects at GBC. We have had the privilege of sending families and individuals on a wide variety of domestic and international mission experiences. We praise God for the privilege of partnering with these people for the furtherance of His Kingdom. Over time, we will be adding more detail to this section in order to share His working through these efforts.
